U15 All County Football Division 2 Shield Final
Dromcollogher/ Broadford 3-11 Oola 3-04
Well done to our club’s U15 Football Team who last Tuesday evening won their second trophy of the season by adding the Division 2 football shield to the Division 3 Hurling Championship Title.
The final result in Mick Neville Park (Rathkeale) was Dromcollogher/ Broadford 3-11 Oola 3-04.
Dromcollogher/ Broadford Scorers on the night were: Shane Browne and Rory O’Dell both 1-02, John Lenihan 1-01 Ryan Sheehan 0-03, Sean O’Flynn, Ollie Stokes and Jack Noonan 0-01 each. Dromcollogher/ Broadford 2-20 Askeaton/ Ballysteen/ Kilcornan 4-06
This was a very exciting game at half-time with Askeaton/ Ballysteen/ Kilcornan leading by 2-5 to 0-4 and then in the second half we out- scored Askeaton/ Ballysteen/ Kilcornan by 1-11 to 2-1, with our goal coming from Sean O’Flynn and then in Extra-time we out scored Askeaton/ Ballysteen by 1-5 to 0-3 with our goal coming from Rory O’Dell. Congratulations to the Management team of John O’Kelly, Maurice McCarthy and George O’Sullivan and the brilliant panel of players led by Aaron Leahy captian.
Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first points of the game coming from Séan O’Flynn and Ryan Sheehan and then Askeaton/ Ballysteen/ Kilcornan scored the next two points to bring sides back on level terms for the first time during the game. Ryan Sheehan scored the next point for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to leave a point between the sides and then Askeaton/ Ballysteen scored the next pint to bring sides back on level terms for the second time during the game. Askeaton/ Ballysteen/ Kilcornan scored the next 2-1 of the game with first goal coming in the 19th minute of the game and the second goal coming in the 20th minute of the game and point in the 23rd minute of the game to leave 8 points between the sides and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next point of the game to leave seven points between the sides at the break. To leave the score at half-time Askeaton/ Ballysteen/ Kilcornan by 2-5 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-4.
Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next three points coming from Ollie Brudair and Aaron Leahy to leave four points between the sides and then Askeaton/ Ballysteen/ Kilcornan scored the third game to leave seven points between the sides once again with 37 minutes gone in the game. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next 1-5 to leave by a point for the second time during the game with the goal coming from Séan O’Flynn with 40 minutes in the game and with three of these points coming from Ryan Sheehan and the other point coming from John Lenihan. Askeaton/ Ballysteen/ Kilcornan scored the next point to bring sides back on level terms for the third time during the game and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next three points to lead by three points and with two of these points coming from Aaron Leahy. Askeaton/ Ballysteen/ Kilcornan scored the next goal of the game in the last kick of the game with 35 minutes gone in the game to bring sides back on level terms for the fourth time of the game. To leave the score at full-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-15 to Askeaton/ Ballysteen/ Kilcornan 4-6.
Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first point of extra-time to leave a point between the sides and then Askeaton/ Ballysteen scored the next two points to lead by a point at end of the first half of extra-time. To leave the score at half-time during extra-time Askeaton/ Ballsyteen/ Kilcornan 4-08 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-16.
Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two point to the lead once again by a point and these points came from Rory O’Dell and Ronan O’Sullivan and then Askeaton/ Ballysteen/ Kilcornan scored the next point of the game to bring sides back on level terms of the fifth time during the game. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the last 1-2 of the game to win by five points with goal coming from Rory O’Dell and both of these points came from Aaron Leahy. To leave score at full-time during extra-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 2-20 to Askeaton/ Ballysteen/ Kilcornan 4-9.
