This was a very tight game with our boys getting over the line by a point on the afternoon in question, played down in very good conditions in Askeaton, on Sunday last, with great performances from many players on the day and many important players played very well on the day and especially from: Brian Stack, Kevin Noonan, Séamus Brosnan, Graham Roche, Kenny Lynch, Micheál Brosnan, Brian O’Callaghan. Our next fixture, in the Intermediate Football Championship Semi-Final against St. Senan’s, on Saturday October 21st, in Newcastle West, at 3pm, referee to be announced (with extra-time and penalties if necessary). Kyle Mullins of St. Patrick’s and Jack Pierce of Dromcollogher/ Broadford exchange points early in the game and then Kevin Noonan of Dromcollogher/ Broadford gave us the lead for the first time during the game and then Kyle Mullins scored the next point of the game for St. Patrick’s to bring sides back on level terms for the second time during the game. Josh McCarthy of St. Patrick’s and Jack Pierce of Dromcollogher/ Broadford exchange points to bring sides back on level terms for the third time during the game. Micheál Brosnan of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Philip Moloney of St. Patrick’s exchanged points just before the end of the half to leave sides on level terms for the fourth time during the game to leave at the break. To leave the score at half-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-4 to St. Patrick’s 0-4.
Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first two points of the second half to take the lead once again by two points and these points came from Cillian Fahy and Micheál Brosnan and then Séan Morbell scored a point for St. Patrick’s to leave a point between the sides. Micheál Brosnan of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Kyle Mullins of St. Patrick’s exchanged points to leave a point between the sides. St. Patrick’s scored the next point of the game to bring sides back on level terms for the fifth time during the game and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points to take the lead by two points and these points came from Kenny Lynch from 45m and Micheál Brosnan. Josh McCarthy scored the last point of the game for St. Patrick’s with 61 minutes gone in the game to leave a point between to secure victory for us and to book our place in the Semi-Final against St. Senan’s a repeat of the Quarter Final of last year. To leave the score at full-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-9 to St. Patrick’s 0-8.
