This was a very tight between two very evenly matched teams and this was our second draw in the championship with our scorers on the day coming: Keith Lacey 8 points, Kevin Noonan 3 points, Brian O’Callaghan and Tommy Ryan 2 points each and Damien Burke 1 point. The table after five rounds reads as follows: Mungret/ St. Paul’s 9 points +44, Dromcollogher/ Broadford 8 points +29, Bruff 5 points +7, Doon 4 points + 23, Rathkeale 2 points -16, Blackrock 0 points -87 and our fixture is against our near neighbours and rivals Feenagh/ Kilmeedy, in the Quarter Final of the Championship, on this coming Saturday September 30th, in Quaid Park, Colyroe, at 3pm, referee to be announced, with extra-time and penalties if necessary.
Mungret/ St. Paul’s scored the first three points of the game, and these points came from and with two of these points coming from Mark O’Brien and the other point came from Chams Jagna and then Keith Lacey of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Diarmuid Hynes of Mungret/ St. Paul’s exchanged points to leave three points between the sides. Mark O’Brien scored the first and only goal of the game from Mungret/ St. Paul’s with 13 minutes gone in the game to leave six points between the sides and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next three points of the game to leave three points between the sides and these points came from Kevin Noonan, Damien Burke and Keith Lacey. Diarmuid Hynes point for Mungret/ St. Paul’s to leave four points between the sides and then Keith Lacey of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Eoghan Mulcahy of Mungret/ St. Paul’s exchanged points to leave four points between the sides. Mike Mullins of Mungret/ St. Paul’s scored the next point to leave five points between the sides the sides the at the break. To leave the score at half-time Mungret/ St. Paul’s 1-8 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-6.
Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first two points of the second half and these points came from Tommy Ryan and Keith Lacey to leave three points between the sides then Mark O’Brien scored the next point for Mungret/ St. Paul’s to leave four points between the sides and then Keith Lacey scored the next two points for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to leave two points between sides. Mark O’Brien of Mungret/ St. Paul’s scored the next point of the game to leave three points between the side and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the four points to give us the lead by one point for the first time during the game with two of these points coming from Brian O’Callaghan and the other points Keith Lacey and Kevin Noonan. Diarmuid Hynes of Mungret/ St. Paul’s and Tommy Ryan of Dromcollogher/ Broadford exchanged points to give us lead again by a point between the sides and then Mark O’Brien scored the next two points for to give Mungret/ St. Paul’s the lead by a point and then Keith Lacey of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the last point of the game to bring sides back on level terms for the second time during the game.
