This was a game two halves with Rathkeale leading that halfway stage on a scoreline of 2-7 to 0-09 and then in the second half we out scored Rathkeale on a scoreline 3-9 to 2-3 to win by five points at the end of the game. With our goals coming Declan Stack, Keith Lacey and Shane Murphy. This win makes from two in the space of two weeks before the break for two weeks from hurling, we now have football for next two weeks and the table are two rounds reads as follows: Mungret/ St. Paul’s 4 Points + 9, Dromcollogher/ Broadford 4 points +6, Doon 2 Points +16, Rathkeale 0 points -8, Blackrock 0 points -19.
Eoin Kelly of Rathkeale scored the first point of the game and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next three points to give us a lead of two points with two coming from Shane Murphy and the other point came from Brian O’Callaghan his first point Championship Hurling. Rathkeale scored the next two points to bring sides back on level terms for the second time during the game and these points came from Darren Jones and Patrick Wilmott and then Keith Lacey scored the next two points for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to give us the back the lead once again by two points. Rathkeale scored the first goal of the game with 17 minutes gone in the game Barry Coleman give back the lead by a point and then Barry Coleman scored a point two put points between the sides. Keith Lacey scored the next point for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to put a point between the sides and then Patrick Wilmott of Rathkeale score the next 1-1 of the game to lead by five points with 20 minutes in the game. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points to leave three points between the sides and these points came from Jack Pierce and Séan O’Sullivan and then Patrick Wilmott of Rathkeale and Keith Lacey of Dromcollogher/ Broadford exchanged points to leave three points again between the sides. Patrick Wilmott of Rathkeale scored the next point of the game just before the break to leave four points between the sides at end of the first half. To leave the score at half-time Rathkeale 2-7 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-9.
Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first two points of the second half and these points came from Keith Lacey and Brian Stack to put two points between the sides and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two goals both in the same minute of the game with 35 minutes gone in the game to give us lead of four points and these goals came from Shane Murphy and Keith Lacey. Rathkeale scored the next two points, and these points came from Barry Coelman and Andrew White to leave two points between the sides and then Brian Stack scored the next goal for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to leave five points between the sides. Keith Lacey of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next point to leave six points between the sides and then Evan Lenihan scored the next goal for Rathkeale with 47 minutes gone in the game to leave three points between the sides. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next five points to lead by eight points and with four of these points coming from Keith Lacey and the other point coming from James Molyneaux and then Mikey Morrissey of Rathkeale and Damien Burke of Dromcollogher/ Broadford exchanged points. Mikey Morrissey of Rathkeale scored the last goal of the game coming from Mikey Morrissey with 65 minutes in the game to leave five points between the sides at end of the half to leave five points between the sides at end of the game. U13 All County Football Championship Division 1A Round
On Thursday night last we travelled to Cappagh to play Cappagh/ Rathkeale/ Croagh/ Kilfinny, in our last group match. Without a few regulars the boys adapted well to the opposition. The boys worked hard all over the field putting up a score of 1-5 to Cappagh/ Rathkeale/ Croagh/ Kilfinny goal at the break. In the second half Cappagh/ Rathkeale/ Croagh/ Kilfinny dominated a lot of possession and clocked a score of 2-3 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford’s goal. Both teams played some nice football up and down field with Cappagh/Rathkeale/Croagh/ Kilfinny emerging winners by one point on a scoreline of 3-3 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 2-5. After all group games finished the boys now qualify for a Division 2 County Championship Semi-Final.
