This was a very tight match game played down in Newcastle West, on last Saturday night, in very good conditions between two very evenly matched teams with Newcastle West were slight the better team on the day. This is our fifth game is the league with Killeedy and Glenroe left to play in the group stages and the table read as follows Glenroe and Newcastle West both on eight points, Feenagh/ Kilmeedy 7 points, Dromcollogher/ Broadford 6 points, Monagea 3 points, Killeedy and Knockaderry both on 2 points and Tournafulla no points.

Newcastle West scored the first pointed free of the game and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next three points to take the lead for the first time during the game and these points came from Derry McCarthy, Keith Lacey and Damien Burke. Newcastle West scored of the game to leave a point between the sides and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points to leave three points between the sides and these points came from Damien Lacey and Damien Burke. Newcastle West scored the next three points to bring sides back on level terms for the second time during the game and then Derry of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next point for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to give the lead once again by a point. Newcastle West scored the next 1-3 of the game just before the break to lead by five points at end of the half. To leave the score at half-time Newcastle West 1-8 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-6.

U11 Football Notes

Our U11 footballers travelled to Abbeyfeale on Friday night last to play against Fr. Casey’s. With several players not available on the night we just had a panel of 11 players. Fr. Casey’s had a very strong panel on the night. With the home team starting the brighter of the two teams in the first half. With Dromcollogher/ Broadford team upping their performance in the second half with excellent work force. Our boys got a few great scores in the second half were very unlucky to be beaten by 2 points.

Results of the 344th draw took place on June 24th, in Neenan’s Bar, Broadford and the numbers drawn were: 6, 13, 17, 22 there was no winner of the jackpot was at €5,300 and there also was one winner of Match three at €100 and that was Kathleen Barry, Broadford and the two lucky dips of €50 each were: Bernie Madigan, Dromcollogher and Tom Galvin, Castleishion, Dromcollogher, and the next draw will take place on this coming Monday July 1st, in Foley’s Bar, Broadford and the Jackpot is going up to €5,400 and the match three is staying at €100.
