This was one-sided game of football played down in Clarina, which meant that Dromcollogher/Broadford qualified for the Semi-Finals of the Intermediate Football Championship, on last Sunday afternoon, this win puts into the Semi-Final against the winners of St. Senan’s and Gerald Griffins, Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Mungret/St. Paul’s both on 8 points, Gerald Griffins and Rathkeale both on 6 points, Pallasgreen 2 points, Fr. Casey’s no points.
Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first 1-4 of the game with the goal coming from Séan O’Sullivan with 15 minutes gone in the game latching onto a good attack and rounding the keeper to finish. Kevin Noonan of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Colm McMahon of Pallasgreen exchanged points and then with we scored a great team goal finished by Kevin Noonan with the assist from Jack Pierce with 26 minutes gone in the game to give us lead of nine points at the break. To leave the score at half-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 2-5 to Pallasgreen 0-2.
Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first 1-4 of the second half with third and final goal came from Derry McCarthy with 38 minutes gone in the game and with two of these points came from Derry McCarthy and the other points came from Micheál Brosnan and Kevin Noonan. We closed out the game from there and got some game time into other squad members. To leave the score at full-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 3-11 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-5.
