CROOM GAA CLUB NOTES

AGM: We had our meeting on Monday 30 In the Clubhouse and it was one of our best attended meeting for many years. Attendees heard comprehensive reports from the top table of successes both on and off the field with our Minors winning the County A Championship as well as other successes from the Juvenile Club. The opening of our smashing new facilities was one of the highlight of the year along with another great run of “Croom Dancing “ . A lot of credit goes to the organisers of all the fundraising event , the Club members, our great supporters and of course our many sponsors. There are many great plans in the pipeline for the coming year and with continued support from all of the above plus the Organisation at County, Provincial and National level -(to whom we are very grateful) we will have facilities second to none . More successes on the field are pending with increasing playing numbers and more individuals getting involved on the ground. Election of officers was over with quickly as there was only change with Ger Flynn being elected unopposed to  the position of Club Secretary to replace Alan Sheerin .Alan is moving on to the South Board as ass. secretary.

Calling all parents/past players-we need you:
Croom GAA club is looking for new volunteers to help re-energise and drive our club into the future. Our recruitment drive begins with the most basic unit of voluntary commitment which is ‘One Hour’. This is the shortest time per week during which one person can make a difference. While it might appear a small amount, lots of one hour voluntary commitments can add up. The three main rewards people get from volunteering are the satisfaction of seeing the results, the feeling of doing good and meeting people. Research has found the main reason for not volunteering is that people were not asked in the first place. Well now you have been asked! If you are reading this we would love you to get involved! So why not give it a go? Your club and community needs you, even for one hour per week! If interested, please contact our club chairman Richie O’Kelly 0858610223 to see what area of the club you might like to get involved in.
