The Nearest the Pin was won by Stephen Moore, and the Longest Drive was won by Brian Duggan. We would like to thank those who sponsored tee boxes & especially Padraig Broderick of Spar for the goodie bags. Thanks also to Billy Lee for providing the bottled water, and Lee Harrington, always great supporters of Croom GAA.
Intermediate Hurling:
We continue our training on Tuesdays and Thursdays and play Cappamore in the county league this Saturday night at 7.30pm in Cappamore.
Junior A Football:
Last week we played Kilteely/Dromkeen in the semifinal of the county league. Having beaten Bruree and Ballylanders in the south league and a challenge match against Bruff, the team was going fairly well, but we knew this would be a step up against one of the favourites for the county championship. Kilteely/Domkeen were well up for this and used the ball well, punishing Croom for any errors or turnovers. They scored 2 goals in the first half and we were not capitalising on our possesion when we attacked. We started the second half much better and were getting the upper hand clawing back the deficit, but conceeded another goal and the game fizzled out on a 3.11 to 0.10. We now turn our attention to the first round of the championship against Oola the weekend after next.
Minors: (upcoming fixtures)
This Friday we play Galtee Gaels in the south football championship at home at 8pm followed by Killacolla Gaels in the south hurling championship on Tuesday July 16th at home at 7.30pm.
