CROOM GAA CLUB NOTES
Talk on Sport & Exercise Nutrition-Dr. Catherine Norton UL
Last Thursday the club welcomed Dr. Catherine Norton from UL to speak to our players, parents, coaches, and members. It truely was a fantastic informative evening with great engagement from the audience of about 50. Catherine had a great rapport and interaction particularly with our younger players. They showed their interest to strive for excellence and we hope they take on board a lot of what was discussed. Slides are available on email from Stephen Lucey. We would like to thank the club for getting behind this talk and for all who helped organise it. We hope to have further guest speakers/coaches in the months and years ahead.
We lost our first 2 games in Division 3 of the Couny League in the last couple of weeks. It has been very difficult to get players due to college exams, holidays and injuries. We lost away to Kildimo/Pallaskenry 1.18 : 1.12 and the second match away to Blackrock last Saturday night by 5.24 : 0.17. This Saturday night we are at home v Pallasgreen at 7pm.
Last Monday we were due to play Kileedy/Tournafulla at home in the hurling championship. The result wasn’t known at time of the club notes being sent to print. This is the last U16 game before the exam break.
Last week, we lost in the football championship to Caherconlish by 3.04 to 9.12. This Tuesday just gone, we were due to play Croagh/Kilfinny/Rathkeale at home in the hurling championship but the result wasn’t known at the time of the club notes being sent in. Next Wednesday May 22nd, we are away to Galtee Gaels at 7pm in the football championship.
Last Thursday we played a very keenly contested game against Blackrock. Both sides gave their all in front of a great crowd on a lovely sunny evening. We lost out on a final score of 4.04 to 6.06. Well done to the players who gave it everything. This Thursday May 16th, we are at home v Knockainy in football at 6.45pm.

Commemorative Plaques in the Clubhouse:
We are delighted to launch our fundraising plaque initiative for the clubhouse. This is a plaque that you can have personalied with names dedicated to your family or loved ones maybe with a short message. The plaques will be on display together in the hall upstairs in the clubhouse. It is a nice gesture to remember those close to you while at the same time helping to fund the clubhouse
