U12 :Thursday August 18th was a proud day for the u12 boys from croom as we set off at 8am on the road to crokepark. We arrived on schedule at 11am to take our postion in the cusack stand and get ready to go into battle. Team named Jersey on a little warm up and 1150 we were ready to go . Game 1 clooney Quin Clare and it was nip and tuck with the clare lads settling the quicker they raced into a 3pts 1 lead we got it back level and they got a crucial goal which proved the difference as clooney won 1.7 0.6 pts.The boys were annoyed cause they left a few scores behind them. Learn quickly and move on they did. GAME 2 against de la salle waterford and we hit the ground running croom boys sending points over from everywhere and hunting in packs winning rucks and coming out with sliothars croom spirit and fight to the fore we had arrived with victory in this game 1.8 0.6 croom boys on tour. Game 3 against Erin’s own cork and we were on the back foot from the off behind 2.3 0.2 with 10 mins gone we were down but not gone and the last 7 mins we rose our game and fought for everything and scored 2.3 too get within 2pts of the cork lads with a final free we dropped it in and the full time whistle went we finished losing 2.7 too 2.5 gallant to the very end they died with there boots on.. This boys represented themselves and croom parish with dignity and pride and are a credit to the croom jersey and there families . Giving that 16 of the squad are u11 they are young today will be massive for all of them 22 legends in croom jerseys today. We had a stadium tour after also the museum and it was a great day all around The future is bright for these 22 legends in croom Jerseys after today croom abú .Big thanks too Liam Costello, Darren Dore, Michael Cairtime, Jennifer & Trevor Costello and anyone else for helping out all day . with volunteers like ye days like this are not possible thanks.
Croom GAA offers it sincere condolences to Cappamore Gaa on the sad passing of their club member Donnacha Ryan who tragically died in a car accident last night, Our thoughts are with his parents Nicola and Mikey, his sister Aishling and to both extended Ryan families.
