The under 21 hurlers opened their championship campaign last Sunday with a 0-22 to 2-12 win away to Belville Gaels (Feohanagh & Feenagh-Kilmeedy). The lads have a BYE this weekend and their next and final group game is against Killacolla Gaels (Bruree & Castletown-Ballyagran) is on Sunday 7th November at 12noon in Crecora.

Hard luck to the under 15 footballers who lost out to St Kieran’s last Saturday in Mick Neville Park in the county final. In this tight affair, the early exchanges were even as it stood at 0-1 apiece after ten minutes of play. St Kierans then score a goal and a point in quick succession to extend the lead out to four. Despite this setback, our lads responded well to core two points before half time to leave just two points in it at half time. Half way through the second half we had brought the sides level at 1-2 to 0-4, but St Kieran’s scored the last two points of the contest to win out by two despite the best efforts of our lads. Hard luck to the team and management of Tom O’Keeffe and Declan Maher who had a fantastic year recording victories over big clubs such as Na Piarsaigh and Newcastlewest along the way to the final. Panel: Charlie Lane; Mark O Brien, Fergus Bell, Paddy Gardiner; Tiernan Dunne, Con Kirby, Oisin O Byrne; Fionn Rowsome, Harry Cummins; Brian Dolphin, Dan Le Gear, Conor Ryan; Rory O Connor, Aleks Reddan, Bill Hannon. Ryan Scanlon, Callum Godfrey, Luke Hassett, Mark O Keeffe, Brian Maher, Cian Conway, Cian Enright, Ben Buckley, Matthew McInerney, Mathew Lane.
