Match Reports:
Premier Junior Hurling Final Round
Crecora Manister 3:20 St. Patricks 1:18
Sunday 14th September saw the completion of the group stages of the Premier Junior Hurling Championship. Going into the weekend there was also 2 points separating the teams in a highly competitive group. We went into the game knowing a win would see us progress to the knockout stages and anything less would probably see our elimination. The team were determined to make the knockout stages after missing out narrowly last year. There was a swirling breeze which favoured us slightly in the first half but St Patricks were quickest out of the blocks and scored 1-1 in the first 2 mins. We had a reply from Conor Kirby which helped the team to settle into the game. We scored the next 3 points in quick succession through a couple of frees from Cathal O’Neill and a point from Edwin Wixted to level the scores.  By the mid-point of half points from Cathal saw us take the lead for the first time. Rian O’Byrne and Padraig Byrnes were also on the scoreboard and by half time we had extended our lead to 3 points to leave the half time score of 0-13 to 1-7 in our favour. Cathal was on the mark early in the second half but the lead narrowed to 1 point with less than 10 minutes played. The game was in the balance at this stage but our lads stepped up a gear and a point from Chris Shanahan followed by a goal from Cathal extended our lead out to 5. St Patricks reduced it to 3 but a goal from Edwin edged us further in front and the next score was a goal from Jack Dalton to put us in control of the game.  From there to the end our defence stood strong as St Patricks went in search of the goals required. Ger Kennedy also made a striking diving save to preserve our advantage and we ran out winners on a 3-20 to 1-18 scoreline. This result ensures we qualify for the knockout stage.  Squad Ger Kennedy, Rory Hannan, Colm Parnell, Karl Moloney, Tim Moloney, Thomas Shanahan, Cathal O’Neill, James Conheady, Conor Kirby, Mark Shanahan, Jack Dalton, Edwin Wixted, Padraig Byrnes, Rian O’Byrne, Sean Keyes, David Rickard, Ned O’Meara, Ciaran Cusack, Paraic O’Neill, Sean Malone.

U16 Hurling Quarter Final Win:
SLCM 4:14 Cois Laoi Gaels 1:08
Our Under-16 boys, in amalgamation with South Liberties, recorded a fantastic win this morning in challenging, blustery conditions in Fedamore. Despite playing against a strong wind in the first half, the team showed great determination and skill, registering three well-taken goals to build a comfortable lead at the break. With the wind at their backs in the second half, our lads continued to dominate, extending their advantage with some fine passages of hurling and solid teamwork across the field. We now look forward to the upcoming Semi-Final and await fixture details from the County Board. Well done to all involved!

U7 Hurling:
Our under 7s played in a blitz in Monaleen last Tuesday. They played 4 games and showed excellent effort and skill. Well done to all. Under 6 and under 7 training continues every Monday at 6pm.
U10 Football:
We played our last blitz of the summer last Friday evening in Mungret. Heavy rain made conditions very tough for the lads but they put in very good performances. This was the last Go Games blitz for the summer. There will be an all-county blitz in a few week’s time. We will move the football training to Fri evenings from 6-7pm.
