Club Limerick/Limerick GAA raise over €1.16 million in fundraising draw as Croatian born Matea Marzic wins dream home in Adare:
Matea Marzic is the owner of an amazing home in Adare, Co. Limerick after winning the hugely exciting WIN A HOME IN ADARE fundraising draw at the weekend. The Croatian born woman (aged 31); living in Limerick for the past 8 years with her husband Dino Marzic, was the first ticket out of the drum at the closing ceremony at the Fitzgerald’s Woodlands House Hotel & Spa on Sunday night. Amazingly Matea and her husband were in the room and at the draw ceremony when the ticket was drawn
“I still can’t believe it. It’s such a beautiful apartment in such a stunning location. We have been driving past it every day for the past 8 years. I saw the advert for the raffle on social media and just said why not,” said Matea.
The draw to win a home in picturesque Adare started last April with Club Limerick/ Limerick GAA raising over €1.16 million through ticket sales during the four and a half month campaign.
“I just want to thank everybody who supported us and bought tickets since we launched the fundraiser. The reaction in Limerick and all over the country as well as across the world has been fantastic,” said Sean Scanlan, Chairperson of the WIN A HOME IN ADARE committee and Club Limerick.
Proceeds from the draw are going towards the new Limerick GAA centre of excellence at Crecora, just off the M20 beside Adare. It will consist of 10 full size pitches, dressing rooms, gymnasium, medical rooms, video analysis facilities, a dining area along with offices and meeting rooms. Club Limerick/Limerick GAA are also making donations from the draw to two wonderful organisations in the Mid-Western Cancer Foundation and the Mid West Simon Community.
“We are at the start of something special as we develop and build this new centre of excellence. We have big plans for more exciting events and fundraisers in the future so please continue to support us. We really appreciate it,” added Sean.
Tickets were bought in all four provinces, in Europe, Asia, Australia and America and in numerous other places around the world. The full draw and details of all the prize winners are on the website www.winahomeinadare.com.
