CLUB LIMERICK (DUBLIN) NOTES
Congratulations:
Well done to the ladies footballers of UL on adding the O’Connor Cup to the Ashbourne Cup title won recently. Well done to the Senior hurlers on reaching the Allianz Leagues semi-finals where they will play either Tipperary or Dublin on 23-24 March. Well done also to former Limerick goalkeeper Joe Quaid on securing promotion to Division 1B with Westmeath. Commiserations to the senior camogie team on League semi-final defeat to Galway.
AGM:
Club Limerick Dublin held a successful AGM last Friday night week, with excellent contributions from guest speakers, Limerick hurler Seamus Hickey and Ciarán Crowe and Joe Lyons authors of ‘At Last’ and editors of ‘The Green & White’ GAA Magazine. Ciaran and Joe have promised to publish a sequel to ‘At Last’ later this year, which will be titled ‘Again’!
We are looking to expand our Committee for the year ahead so if anyone has an inclination to get a bit more involved, please let us know.
Club Limerick Draw:
Membership of Club Limerick Dublin is via joining the Club Limerick Draw. The cost is €100 which covers entry into 10 monthly draws between April and January. There are 30 Cash prizes per month with a total prize fund of €212,000, including a Top Prize of €10,000 each month. Golf Classic:
The 24th Annual Golf Classic takes place on Friday 26th April at Edmondstown Golf Club in Rathfarnham. This is our longest running and most successful fundraising event and it would be great to fill the timesheet again this year, with Limerick as All-Ireland champions! Entry is €450 for a team of 3 and includes a fabulous 4 course meal at Morilles Bistro. Entries to Tom Cotter at 086-8380893. Early entries get choice of tee-times so don’t delay!
Championship Preview Lunch:
This year’s Championship Preview Lunch event will take place on Friday 17th May at Morans Red Cow Hotel. We are currently finalising the panel of guest speakers and will be launching that shortly. The rate is the same as last year, €1,000 for a Corporate Sponsorship package including Table of 10 guests, or individual tickets for members at €60 each.
