CAHERLINE GAA CLUB NOTES

GAA LOTTO: No winner, numbers drawn were 3, 14, 17, 22. Lucky dip winners were John Lynch, Anne Carroll, Patricia Mulready, Gemma Murnane and Vincent & Sophie Enright. Next weeks jackpot will be €4,300 and the draw will be held on Friday night in Flannerys Bar.

U-21 HURLING: Disappointment for our U-21’s last Sunday in the County Final against South Liberties in Kilbreedy, beaten on a scoreline of 0-13 to 0-11. In blustery & sometimes showery conditions, both teams showed their intent early, Caherline getting on the board within the first minute with a point from Sean Erasmus, Liberties responding with their own a minute later. 16 minutes in, it was 3 points a piece, but Liberties closed out the half with three unanswered scores to lead by 3 at half time. 2 frees from Jake Kennedy at the start of the second half brought it back to a one point game, but Liberties kept their noses in front until 19 minutes in to the half, when Caherline, having scored 4 points in a row, pulled it back to a draw game. As with the first half, Liberties managed to close out the half better and with two converted frees, Liberties took the win by 2 points. It was a tough loss for the lads, who fought hard until the end, but they should be very proud of their efforts throughout the campaign. TEAM: D Crosse, S Whelan, E Balfry, Di Murnane, Da Murnane, D McNamara, J Kennedy (0-06(4f)), S Erasmus (0-02), N Tierney, P Wixted (0-02), J Enright, J Halvey, J Carroll (0-01). SUBS: T Kennedy, C Enright, D Wixted, L Shanahan, M Hogan, J Heelan.
