JUNIOR A CHAMPIONSHIP: Our Junior A panel are back in action next Sunday against Drom-Broadford in Martinstown at 1pm (note the change of venue). Very best of luck lads.
U-17 HURLING: Our lads when down to Croom on Saturday morning 2-25 to 1-10, which brings an end to their championship for this year. The club would like to thank Seamus Murnane, his coaches and all the players for their effort this year. We had a lot of injuries in the last few weeks and we were down to the bare bones, but great pride in the jersey from everyone that played.
U-13 HURLING: There are games where everything goes pretty much to plan and that was the case for our U-13’s last Saturday morning against Knockainey in the Division 3 Shield final. 1-03 from Evan Martin & a lovely point from Ciaran Tiernan had us up by 5 points at half time (1-04 to 0-02) and the message to the lads was to keep doing what they were doing, defend strong and take our scores. Right out the gate, we had another 1-01 scored in about 60 seconds, a lovely point from Ryan Moloney followed by Evan’s second goal and from there, the result didn’t really look in doubt. A goal from Michael Koyce in the 16th min of the second half was followed by a beauty from Evan 2 mins later to wrap up a brilliant win; final score in Rathkeale, Caherline 4-08 Knockainey 0-04. The entire panel have been outstanding all year and have improved with every session/game, that’s all we can ask of them. TEAM: S O’Dwyer, A Ryan, B McGrath, M Hourigan, O Heelan, M Boland, R Mannion, J Kiely, R Moloney (0-01), S Casey, C O’Dwyer (0-01(1*f)), E Martin (3-04(2*f)), C Ryan, M Koyce (1-00), C Tiernan (0-02). SUBS: J Wallace, S Barrett, N Madden, F Spencer, P Power. Not available on the day, but important to call them out as part of the panel were Jamie Kiely & Patryk Staszowski.
U-11 HURLING: Our U-11’s welcome Adare to Caherconlish on Tuesday evening, throw-in at 6:45pm.
