CAHERLINE GAA CLUB NOTES
CLUB LOTTO: No jackpot winner – numbers drawn were 18, 19, 25 & 29. Lucky dip winners were David Long, Michelle Nelligan, Aoife O’Connor, Caroline Hartnett and Paud O’Keeffe. Next week’s jackpot will be €2,400 and the draw will be held on Friday night via Facebook Live. As always, we appreciate everyone’s support.
EAST INTERMEDIATE LEAGUE: A great win on Sunday morning in Caherconlish, where we beat Doon by the slenderest of margins, 1-16 to 3-09. It was a game that had everything and went right down to the wire. That win secures second spot on the table behind Ballybricken, well done to all involved. Special mention to Jake Carroll who came off early in the second half with a nasty looking ankle injury, we would like to wish Jake the very best in his recovery.
EAST/CITY JUNIOR B: Despite a great win for us against Ballybrown last Friday night in Clarina (0-26 to 3-07), Fedamore’s defeat at the hands of Ballybricken on Sunday morning has ended our Junior B League campaign this year. It’s a pity, as the lads were hurling really well, and we had great numbers showing to put on the jersey. The club would like to thank Micheàl, Steve & Derek for looking after the team, all the players for putting in a great effort this year, Dolly Fitz for looking after the gear & Katie Lynch
for tending to a lot of bumps & bruises along the way.
U-17 HURLING: Tough first outing for our U-17’s against Granagh-Ballingarry on July 7th back in Ballingarry – despite a great effort from our lads, Granagh-Ballingarry took the win 4-22 to 3-09.
U-15 HURLING: Great win on the road for the lads on July 5th back in Croom – good, solid hurling, took their scores well and deserved the win 5-14 to 0-07. We had 26 players togged for the game, great to see such strong numbers!
U-13 HURLING: Great effort by the lads last Thursday night – they were disappointed with the draw (4-07 to 5-04), but a great contest with some great scores. Next up for us is a game at home against St Pat’s on July 22nd.
UPCOMING FIXTURES: Quieter week on the fixture front – on Friday July 16th, our U-9’s play Doon in Caherconlish at 6:45pm.
