Busy weekend of inter-county Academy Programme action ahead:
It’ll be a busy weekend of inter-county Academy Programme Gaelic football finals.
It promises to be a very busy weekend of inter-county academy Gaelic football with a total of 41 games taking place from Buncrana in Donegal to Ballyvourney in Cork.
These matches include what should be some seriously competitive finals such as the Buncrana Cup (U16) Final clash of Tyrone and Mayo, the Gerry Reilly (U16) Final between neighbours Meath and Louth, and the Ted Webb (U16) Cup Final between Galway and Kerry North.
Last year a total of 399 teams and 11,150 players took part in the GAA inter-county Academy programme, playing 1,102 matches, and were mentored by 1,130 volunteer coaches.
