🔷BRUREE JUVENILE MATCHES
Bruree U10s v Drom Broadford
Game 1
This was an excellent game from start to finish in the autumn sunshine. Cathal McCarthy was once again excellent in goals. Michael McCarthy was dominant in his new position at full back. He was assisted well by Luke Crotty, Kellen O’Connor, Anais O’Brien and Conor Ryan in the backs. Junior O’Donnell and Tom Frawley were on top in midfield in a battle with 2 excellent Drom Broadford midfielders. In the the forwards James Cussen and Dáithí Curley lead the attack with Evan O’Shea and Corey Kelly twice both scorers along with Tom FRAWLEY. Cathal McCarthy played in the backs in the 2nd half with Luke Crotty in goals. Make no mistake this was an excellent Drom Broadford team but Bruree’s determination shone through in the end.

In tonights second under 10’s match against Drom Broadford we had a very hard fought match up. It was a game where defences from both teams were in top and very little scores on the night. Both teams were very evenly matched. Excellent skill shown by all players.

A fantastic team performance from start to finish. Of the 3-20 scored 3-18 was from play. 3-15 was sensationaly scored from the starting forward lines. Superb First half goals from Tommy O’Brien, David Deady and Paddy Kelly set the stage for a big win. The same 3 players combined to score 3-12 between them. Savage scoring and workrate by all the players. The half forward line of Aaron Fitzgerald, Brian O’Rourke and Brendan Hogan was vital for Bruree and the lads didn’t disappoint, Winning possession and taking on the Bruff defence before setting up scores for the inside forward line. At the other end John O’Brien in goals pulled off 2 fantastic saves in either half and was very good with he’s puckouts. The defence was very much on top. Dessie Lenihan was commanding at full back as too were the corner backs in Jonathan Fitzpatrick and John Lynch. Half back line of Captain TJ Mullane, Emmet Morrissey and Connor O’Brien were on top form stopping the Bruff players from wining possession and then setting up the forward lines with class ball in. Midfield was won by bruree with the hard physical work from Jack Potter and the excellent fast supply of ball into the forwards from Donal Deady. The subs that came on made a great impact scoring 4 points. A big week ahead in training. Keep the feet on the ground. A huge 60+ minutes away from retaining the South Junior B Hurling Title. That would be some achievement for Bruree.Well done to all the players and management team. Bruree will play either Blackrock or Camogue Rovers in the South Championship Final next weekend.Well Done to all the players and management team.
🔷GAA CLUB GAMES SUSPENDED WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT
The GAA’s Management Committee has endorsed a decision to suspend all GAA Club games at all levels with immediate effect and until further notice.
The decision has been taken in the interest of public safety following a number of incidents that have been brought to our attention in recent days. In particular, post-match celebrations and a lack of social distancing at certain events have proved disappointing and problematic. This directive applies to all ages and all grades across the island.Club Social Centres / bars are also to close.Training will continue to be permitted as per the guidelines outlined for the relevant levels in the Government’s National Framework for Living with Covid 19 and relevant guidelines in the Six Counties.
The GAA will continue to monitor the situation in the coming days and weeks, regarding changes in government guidelines, before liaising with our units accordingly. The Association would also like to acknowledge all of those units who have worked diligently in complying with the public health advice around the staging of our games and training sessions since activity resumed.More than ever, we ask that you continue with this approach regarding training sessions.
