Poc Fada
Congratulations to Tádgh Boddy who represented Bruff and Limerick to win the U16 Munster Poc Fada Championship this morning at Kerry Head Ballyheigue. Tádgh goes forward to represent Munster in the All Ireland Series which takes place in the Cooley Mountains in August. Interesting fact, the first ever official Poc Fada was won by another Bruff man, Brother Vincent Godfrey (Vincent Huggins) in the 1960s!
All Ireland Hurling Final:
Best wishes to Seán Finn, Dr. James Ryan, Alan Feely, the Limerick panel and management when they face Kilkenny in the All Ireland Hurling Semifinal on Sunday, 17th July. Amazing achievement to be facing into our fourth All Ireland Hurling Final in five years.
U11 Hurling Trip
Our U11s had a fantastic day out in Dublin last Sunday week for the All Ireland semi final. They played some great hurling matches against Raheny who hosted us brilliantly after the games. Croke Park was our next stop and after a riveting 70 plus minutes, where our own Sean Finn was outstanding, Limerick finally got over the line to contest this weekends final. It was a long happy journey home, with a stop in Supermacs having the desired affect of keeping energy levels up. Thanks to Mark Nagle and Tony Clancy for providing refreshments for the trip and to cameraman Trevor Daly for excellent photographs.
