Blackrock 1.20 Na Piarsaigh 1.11

Blackrock scored a good win over Na Piarasigh in the Lyons of Limerick Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship Round 3 game played in Bruff on Sunday last on a score line of 1.20 to 1.11to gain their first brace of points after failing narrowly in round 2 game to Garryspillane. It was Blackrock who were the early pacesetters aided by the fresh wind in the opening half and were 1.11 to 1.07 ahead at the interval. Many in the large crowd wondered if a four point lead was sufficient as the wind increased on the resumption of play. Blackrock kept up the pressure and outscored the opponents by 0.09 to 0.04 in the second half, while Na Piarsaigh were guilty of poor shooting, which saw Blackrock run out winners by 1.20 to 1.11. Blackrock will meet Bruff on Friday August 23rd in a postponed Round 1, game in Kilmallock at 6.30pm.
