Sadly this week the club lost our President Tony Roche. Tony at the age of 78 played for club and county, winning a Munster Minor medal in 1963, Club Chairman in the 2000’s and County Bord na nOg Chairman for many years and honoured with the title of President of County Bord na nOg. To Mary and Una, Anton, Mike and Aoife and their families, his sisters Eithne and Joan and all his friends we extend our sympathies.
John Slattery and Elaine Tobin and their families also suffered bereavement this week when their sister Anne died in Wexford. To all the Slattery families we extend our sympathy.
Club lotto; no winner, 3 4 9 11. The €40 lucky dip went to Margaret Hennessy, promotor Chrissie O Sullivan, €20 lucky dips Mary Murphy, promotor Brendan O Brien, Caitlin O Brien, promotor Brendan O Brien, John O Brien, promotor Brendan O Brien, Betty O Dea promotor Breda Walsh. The jackpot remains €13,000.
The U21’ s next fixture is fixed for next Saturday in Adare at 8pm, we do not know yet who our opposition is.
The AGM was postponed last week due to the death of Tony Roche, it will now take place on Wed next 23rd at 7pm in the Sportsfield Pavillion.
Congratulations to John Kiely on receiving an honorary doctorate in UL during the week. Congratulations to St Kierans and Monaleen on reaching the Munster final in the junior and Intermediate hurling munster competitions. Hard luck to Na Piarsaigh and best wishes to Mike Casey who was injured in the match. In the football, Na Piarsaigh beat Roanmore of Waterford, and Castlemahon won their junior Shamrocks also of Waterford. Best wishes to all Limerick teams progressing to the next level.
