Fr. Casey’s Abbeyfeale, Liam Ó Brúdair was crowned County Winner in the Solo Singing competition. He gave a wonderful rendition of Shanagolden. No stranger to the stage here either as he has All Ireland Fleadhs under his belt. We can’t wait for him to sing again on the stage in Cappamore tomorrow
A previous All Ireland winner Rita O’ Grady from Monagea took the honours in the Recitation/Story telling competition. No stranger to the stage here again! She gave a wonderful dramatic performance full of diction tone and all ireland class.
Bruff’s Veronica Twomey Callinan, Anita Casey, Edel Hayes and Helena Twomey will represent Limerick in the Ballad Group competition. Their wonderful harmonies and use of instruments will ensure the have the judges in awe.
Ahane had the audience rolling in laughter with their Novelty Act. Martin Mac Cába, Trish Furlong, Gearóid Ó Freaghaile, Mairead Uí Eosa, Gráinne de Brú, Áine Uí Cheallaigh, Seacailín Uí Ghloinn and Padraig Mac Caochlaoich put on a great performance. We can wait to see them perform again. Maith sibh!
Granagh/ Ballingarry’s Johnny O’ Riordan and Chriostai O Conaill took first place in the Ceol Uirlise. Johnny has been 51 years competing in Scór Sinsir and won his first County medal ever. We are delighted for him.
Crecora/ Manister current all Ireland reigning champions will once again represent Limerick in the Figure Dancing competition. They are no strangers to the stage and will represent Limerick very well in the Munster Final. Well done to Orla Ní Bhroin, Fraochnach Ní Bhroin, Niamh Ní Mhurchú, Aoife Ní Ghiolamhartáin, Sorcha Ní Ghiolamhartáin, Ella Wojnar, Róisín Musgrave and Emile de Búrca.
