BALLYSTEEN GAA CLUB NOTES
Senior Football
Last week saw us in County League action and we defeated Rathkeale in Round 3 on a score line of 1-08 to 0-09.
Our match against Drom/Broadford was postponed and is due to be played at a future date.
This Saturday our Senior Footballers are playing Monaleen in Monaleen. Throw in scheduled for 7.30pm.
Sympathy
Ballysteen GAA extends sympathy to the family and friends of John Fitzgerald (Mantle Hill) and Jimmy Sweeney who recently passed away. May they Rest in Peace.
Ballysteen GAA were saddened to hear of the sudden passing of West Limerick GAA Board Assistant Secretary Jim Lynch of the Granagh/Ballingarry club last week. We extend our sympathy to his family, friends and to Granagh/Ballingarry GAA. May he Rest in Peace.
Limerick U20 Football
Well done to Cillian Ferris who played for Limerick U20’s last Wednesday night in the Liam O’Connor Cup First Round. Unfortunately, Limerick suffered defeat on the night as they began preparations for their Munster Championship campaign.
Munster Senior Hurling and Football Championships
Well done to the Limerick Senior Hurlers and William O’Meara following their victory against Waterford in the Munster Senior Hurling Championship. Next up is a clash against Clare in the LIT Gaelic Grounds on Sunday. Throw in at 4pm. Best of luck to all involved.

Hard luck to the Limerick Senior Footballers who were defeated by Cork in the Munster Senior Football Championship Semi Final. Billy Lee’s side now go into the qualifiers.
Club Limerick Draw
Ballysteen GAA Club is now promoting the Club Limerick Draw for 2019. Cost €100 for 10 monthly draws first draw April 6th. By joining the draw, you have a chance to win 31 prizes monthly ranging from €12000 to €100. Your membership of Ballysteen GAA Club entitles you to be included in a draw for tickets for matches where demand exceeds supply i.e. Munster & All Ireland Finals etc. Your subscription of which Ballysteen GAA receives €50 will be used to run the club and facilitate the training of our teams.

Club Membership
For anyone who doesn’t want to join the Club Limerick Draw cost of Club Membership for 2019 will be €50 (Adult) & €25 (Minor). This will cover training and insurance costs for players and give priority for All Ireland tickets when necessary. Members can also join together to take part in the Limerick Club draw by combining their €50 membership and be in with chance of winning cash prizes every month. Parish GAA Book
The Club will be releasing a book on the history of the GAA in the Askeaton-Ballysteen parish. If anyone has old photographs or stories regarding GAA in the parish, contact Paul Anglim.
