BALLYBROWN GAA CLUB NOTES
Huge Congratulations to Colin Coughlan who was among the 51 hurlers honoured in The Strand Hotel last Saturday night with the presentation of 367 medals to Limerick panellists from 2019-2021. The Limerick senior hurlers have won eight trophies in that period. We are thrilled to see Colin hurl at this level and receive well-deserved acknowledgement of his achievement. We also acknowledge Mikey Kiely who was so important in his part as S& C coach in the teams wins. Both are so involved in Ballybrown Gaa club on so many levels and we thank them for their time and commitment always. (Photograph below)
Also Huge Congratulations to Ned and Luke who were presented with their Munster Minor 2020 Medals. A proud night for the lads and their families and the Club.
WINTER TRAINING –
What a night in UL last Friday night. The delight on the faces of our juvenile players to meet and get advice from Senior Limerick hurlers Colin Coughlan, Cathal O’Neill, Gearoíd Hegarty, Sean Finn, David Reidy and Barry Nash. It was just priceless. AGM – Due to the increased Covid numbers, the club executive have decided to postpone our annual club AGM this Thursday night to Tuesday the 11th of January 2022.
Our preferred option is to have it face to face, however, if Covid numbers are still high on the revised date, we will have to hold it online (Microsoft teams). We will be in contact before then with further information on the AGM. The club executive made this decision based upon HSE guidelines
Our U21 Hurlers had a great win Vs Adare last Thursday night. This win tonight brings us to a quarter final game next week vs GarrySpillane. We wish the lads well. Please come out to support. Remember to get the link on Facebook to buy your tickets in advance.
Our players continue to hurl with their schools and Universities. Please let us know if there are any matches on so we can put it up and wish them well. Barry Toomey, James Coughlan, Seán O’Brien were out with Ardscoile Rís in a Munster Junior Hurling final Last week. Tomàs O’Connor played with TUS in a University All Ireland Final – Unfortunately neither match was the result we would have liked but great to be involved.

There will be a Christmas Dance Party in the Function Hall on Saturday Nov 20th. Music by Dave Lawlor. Tickets can be got at the Bar for €15 and will include Finger Food .
Huge Night planned for the Function Hall for New Year’s Eve. The Dublin Legends and The Rogues will headline with other acts. Tickets €25. We will let you know when they are available to buy from the Bar
