BALLYBRICKEN/BOHERMORE GAA CLUB NOTES

Junior A Hurling: On Saturday the 16/10/21 the lads played the quarter final of the Junior A Hurling Championship where they took on Killeedy GAA in Kilfinnane. Killeedy started on fire banging in 1:01 inside the opening two minutes. Bally settled when Dan Ownes opened their account with a well taken goal. KIlleedy added two more points before Conor McCarthy opened his account from a dead ball. Both teams exchanged scores with Ballys coming from the frees of Conor McCarthy and Aidan Power firing over from play. Killeedy lead by a point at the 1st water break. Killeedy again started the livelier with two points before Conor McCarthy and Eoighan O’Neill points from play reduced the gap to one point again. Dan Owens then popped up again to get his second goal of the game. KIlleedy responded well to bring the game back to a draw at half time, 2:07 to 1:10. Bally this time started the quicker and got two points from the off. After this both sides traded scores to leave it Bally 2:13, Killeedy 1:14 at the second water break. Dan Owens must have gotten a good gulp of water at the break because the game was hardly restarted when he had the ball in the back if the Killeedy net for his hat trick. Killeedy never gave up and finished strong but in the end the lads held on for a two point win. This win now puts us in the county semi finals along with Caherline, St Patricks & St Kierans.
Junior A Football: Our Junior A footballers will take on Camogue Rovers in the county semi final this coming Sunday at 12pm in Fedamore.
