Fixtures and club notices: Our U21 footballers have qualified for the East final against Oola to be played this upcoming weekend please come out and support the team. Congratulations are in order for Ballybricken man John Keogh on receiving the hall of fame award from the East Board, John has given tremendous service to Ballybricken – Bohermore GAA club both as a player and as an official over a long period of time. John commenced his playing career like all players through Juvenile activity but coming from a small club, opportunities were limited. At adult level, John’s finest moment came when the Ballybricken-Bohermore GAA won the East Limerick Junior championship in 1975 after a long lapse. He played corner back on this team together with his brother Pat who played outside him in the half-back line. This team had further family connections to John, his first cousins the Leonard’s Joe Bud & Eugene were also on this team making it a real family affair. Indeed his cousin Joe was centre back on the Limerick team of 1958 that won the minor All Ireland. John has held many positions in the club from selector to chairman he has played a major part in the club for decades and still has an active roll in the club well done again to the pope.
