Junior B Football :
B/B contested the junior county football semi final on Saturday vs Knockane.
B/B were out of the blocks quickly with a goal from Niall Martin inside the first couple of minutes. Conor McCarthy added a point from a dead ball shortly after. Knockane responded with a score from outside the arc to give them their first 2 pointer of the day, a theme which followed for the rest of the match. Kyle Tierney slotted over for Bally but again Knocken kicked from distance to earn them their second 2 point score. Conor McCarthy made no mistake again from a free to put the scores at 1-4 to 4 going in at halftime.
Knockane came out fighting in the second half and a point which was then followed by a third 2 pointer brought them back level. Conor McCarthy converted 3 frees to Knockanes 1 free to put the scores at 1-7 to 8 points around half way through the second half. With the game heading down the final stretch Knockane pierced B/Bs defence to get their first goal and put themselves a point ahead. Conor McCarthy again from a free levelled things with the game in the melting pot. Knockanes response was again significant with another two pointer converted. McCarthy from a dead ball brought Bally within a point before Dan Owens levelled things with only 5 to play. A free in the final few minutes put Bally a point up. With the game in injury time Jason Cross doubled Ballys lead. John Casey stepped up with a couple of massive saves before a quickly taken free by Knockane resulted in a goal to put them a point up with seconds on the clock. Up stepped Jason Cross to put the teams level in the dying moments and take the game to extra time.
In extra time Knockane again started well and scored another goal and a point in quick succession. Bally fought back and won a penalty which was cooly finished into the top corner by McCarthy. Knockane had to key to our defence however, and in reply converted their fourth goal of the day. Despite Ballys best effort they were unable to pull back the deficient and lost out in a hard fought match bringing our year to an end.

The club is inviting members to a Jubilee Gathering on November 15th at Kirbys Bar at 8:30pm to celebrate the teams of 1975 and 2000. There will a raffle on the night and any spot prizes would be greatly appreciated.
