Junior A Hurling:
In the third round of the junior A Hurling Championship B/B faced Old Christians in Crecora. Straight from the throw in Dan McGuire won the ball and headed straight for goal, Conor McCarthy was waiting for the pass and struck goal with his first touch in a Ballybricken jersey for 3 years. Old Christian’s responded with 2 points while Conor McCarthy and Dan McGuire kept Bally ahead. Niall Martin was a big threat in the full forward line before Scott Ryan converted a monster free to give Ballybricken a 6 point lead at the break. The breeze proved significant and Old Christians stormed into the second half and quickly reduced the deficit. Points from Sean Teefy, Colm Teefy, Niall Martin and Dan McGuire kept Bally ahead. Dan McGuire and Conor McCarthy linked up again for Conor’s second goal, rounding the corner back before making no mistake with the finish.
