Junior B Hurling Championship: In the 1st round of the East Junior A Hurling Championship, we welcomed our near neighbours South Liberties to Caherelly for the opening round of games. The game was played in sweltering conditions , Bally got off to a flying start going 4pts to no score up within the first 12min, Bally seemed to be well in control at this point but South Liberties found their feet and ,with the aid of a few frees,closed the gap to 1pt at the half time break. The HT Score was B/B 0:05-0:04 S/L
As the second half commenced, we were dealt an immediate blow when Liberties found the net are a couple of minutes ,Bally hit back with a free from Cathal O’Neill but Liberties popped over a couple of unanswered points to give them a comfortable lead. Bally hit back with a couple of points but alas the gap was to big to bridge and South Liberties ran out 5pt winners on the night. The FT Score was B/B 0:09-1:11 S/L
