ATHEA GAA CLUB NOTES

Weekly Community Walk/Run
Healthy Athea invites you to join us at Páirc na nGael, Athea for a community walk/run each Tuesday from 7.30pm – 8.30pm. Our fully lit, newly surfaced track is now open to the public, and we would love to see you all for ‘laps of happiness’ each week. Please spread the word, and bring along a friend!
Junior Ladies
Junior semi-final
Athea 1.9
Galtee Gaels 1.7
Well done to our girls who put in a brilliant display to qualify for this year’s final. Athea will play Adare for the Junior Championship cup, more details to follow.
U21s
Athea were beaten at home to Knockaderry on Sunday last on a scoreline of Athea 1-10 Knockaderry 4-06. This game could have gone either way, with a few goal chances hitting the crossbar. Athea will play Caherconlish in round two on Sunday 21st at 12 noon in Caherconlish.
Village Improvement Works
Our Club are delighted to see works begin on the installation of lighting on the pathway leading to our facility. This will make the walk safer for all users. We ask all users of our facility to please slow down and exercise caution during the works. Many thanks to Councillor Francis Foley for allocating GMA funding towards the cost of lighting and to Limerick City & County Council for organising the work.
