ATHEA GAA CLUB NOTES

U12 Girls
Well done to our U12 team who played very well against the old mill on Friday night. Training continues on Tuesday nights. Their next game will be against Feohanagh / Castlemahon next week.
U14 Girls
Our u14 play monagea in the county shield final on Wednesday 25th in Athea at 7. Best of luck to all involved. Tickets for this game can be purchased on https://www.universe.com/…/limerick-lgf-u14-novice-b… .
U16 Girls
Hard luck to our U16’s who were defeated by a strong Murroe Boher side on Monday night in the semi-final. Despite trailing well at half time they never gave up and picked off some great scores in the second half. Promising to see how much this team have improved and all the team are underage again next year.
Junior Ladies
The much awaited division 3 league final will take place Tuesday 31st August in Ahane at 7pm . This will be a ticket only game. Link will be posted when it’s available.
U13 Boys
The U13 footballers played Shannon gaels away on Wed last and are out again this Thursday at home to dromin athlacca.

U15 Boys
Athea 4-14 Askeaton Ballysteen Kilcornan 5-5
The boys got back to winning ways on Monday last in Askeaton. It was a close game all through, with the boys putting in a huge effort.

Féile Peil
We have 2 games Friday evening vs Kildimo Pallaskenry and St Senans, and 1 Saturday morning vs St Kierans in this All Ireland U15 competition.
U17 Boys
The U17s are away to Dromin Athlacca/ Banogue this Wednesday at 7pm.
Hurling
Well done to the 7 Athea players, who played with Templeglantine in the Féile na nOg (U15 hurling) last weekend. They were Jack Sexton, Tadhg ahern, Ciaran hunt, Rory Cleary, Calum Buckley, Louis O’Sullivan and James Hunt.
Well done also to Timmy O’ Keeffe who played in the same competition for Tournafulla/Killeedy.
Junior B Mens
The Junior B team begin their championship on Tuesday August 24th vs Ballysteen at 7pm in Glin. They are scheduled to play Mountcollins on Saturday August 28th at 3pm in Abbeyfeale & St Senans on Tuesday August 31st at 6.45pm. Tickets available to purchase at the gate. As always these games are subject to change so please keep an eye on our social media pages.
Junior A Mens
The Junior A team received a walkover from Ballybrown last Friday evening. Athea will now play Croom in the second round on Thursday evening August 26th in Feenagh at 6.45pm. Keep an eye on our social media pages for ticket information.
Well Done Limerick
Congratulations to the amazing Limerick Senior Hurling Team who won the all Ireland in style last weekend. What a time to be alive! Thanks to everyone who helped with putting up buntings, flags etc in the lead up to the final. We are promised a homecoming later in the year where we hope to get a glimpse of this fantastic team and the Liam McCarthy!
