Coiste na nÓg

It was a good few days for Athea Footballers, with the u14s the u10s the u9s and the u16s all having matches in glorious weather, in front of good but socially distant crowds.

U14

Athea 8-9 Newcastle West 7-3

First up was the u14s who played 13 a side against NCW in Newcastle West at 10am on Saturday morning. As the score line suggests this was a very open game with loads of scores, which made for great excitement.

Team, Tomás Ahern, Sean Twomey, Tadhg Ahern, Jamie Collins, Calum Buckley, Ciarán Hunt, Evan Curry, James Hunt, Alex Quinn, Rory Cleary, Fionn Histon, Timmy O Keeffe and Jim Ahern.

U10/U9

The u10s and u9s were at home to Listowel Emmets also on Saturday at 11 am where they played two excellent games against the North Kerry town. The biggest plus was the large panel of over 20 players we had available.

U16

The under 16 team were out on Monday night in Athea at 7p.m. in the first round of the league against Mountcollins where they had a big win, playing some excellent football. Credit to their coach Jason Dalton who had them playing with great skill and cohesion.

Team, James Hunt, Conor Mullane, Maurice Fitzgerald, Calum Buckley, James Lee, Darragh Reidy, Fergal Pierse, Evan Curry, James Broderick, Cillian O Connor, Michael Walsh, Donnacha Barrett, Tadhg Ahern, Tomás Ahern and Gearoid O Sullivan

Cul Camp

This starts on Monday next Aug 17th with 90 kids booked in, hopefully the weather will be good.
