Woodlands House Hotel County Junior C Football Championship- Group 2-Round 5
Venue: Foynes. Date/time: Saturday October 25th 2025. 2pm Athea v Ballinacurra Gaels.
This Saturday our second team travels to Foynes for a Junior C Quarter Final against Ballinacurra Gaels. The lads have had a busy season with over ten matches played so far this year. The opportunity to field a second team brings with it much valued game team to the broader panel enabling many players to stay involved. Let’s hope that they can get the win here and advance to the Semi-final.
Again, good support at this match will give the team an added boost to cheer them on. Put the date and time in your diary.
County U20 A Football Championship Group 2
Venue: Kilbehenny. Date/time: Saturday October 25th 2025. 2pm Galtee Gaels v Shannon Gaels Athea.
Just a reminder that the U20 Championship commences in the middle of November. We are joined again with Glin and Gerald Griffins and we are in the “A” Championship.
Our first match is against Galtee Gaels away.

Minor Ladies:
Our U19 girls received a walk over from Granagh/ Ballingarry in the first round of the championship last Sunday. They will meet Gerald Griffins in two weeks.
U16 Hurlers:
Our U16 Hurlers were very unlucky in the division 4 shield final against Killacolla Gaels Saturday morning in Mick Neville Park this was without a doubt the best performance from these players this year, they tried hard right up the final whistle playing some brillant hurling. Onwards and upwards for this great bunch of young men next year. Many thanks to the parents for bringing them to training all year and for your support at the match today. The future of Athea hurling is bright!!!!
Congratulations to Colton Brouder who was selected to represent Athea in the Sarsfield cup panel we wish him all the best in the season ahead.
