Ladies:
U16 Championship semi final
Hard luck to our gallant u16 tonight who were knocked out of this year’s championship Monday evening. They left everything on the pitch, played with heart and determination loosing out to a physical stronger Knockainey side on the scoreline 3.14 to 7.14 Huge thanks to Steven O’ Rourke, Mary Hunt, David Murphy and Liz O’ Sullivan for their work with the team over the last few months.

U14’s Championship:
Best of luck to the Athea / Glin u14’s who play this Wednesday night in Ahane against the home side.

U10 Girls:
Best of luck to our U10 girls who play Glin this Wednesday night in Athea at 6.30pm

Intermediate Championship Round 2:
Hard luck to our intermediate team who again were on the wrong end of the scoreline last saturday evening. Athea were on the back foot with a goal coming from Adare’s first attack. The girls re grouped well and found themselves level half way through the second half. Two quick goals before half time break were the difference 1.5 to 3.5. Adare started the second half well and found the net. It was then that Athea found their form and pressed all over the field – there was some great points for play but found it hard to rattle the net. Final score 5. 9 to 2.14. Final round game will be against Fr Casey’s this Thursday night in Athea at 7.15pm.

U12 Football:
Our U12 footballers played Shannon Gaels in Athea on Sunday evening in an enjoyable match with plenty of exciting football from both teams in a high scoring game that was evenly contested. Both teams were excellent with the new rules with the solo & go utilised extensively and also both teams were very good at handing back the ball when the free went against them. We hope to organise a few more challenge matches in September as the kids get back into their routine.

U14 Football Division 1A&2A:
We play our final two Rounds of the U14 Championship this week as we welcome NewcastleWest to Athea on Tuesday evening and are away to Mungret St. Pauls on Thursday evening. The outcome of these matches will determine if we qualify for the knock-out-stages of either the Division 1 or Division 2 competition.

Hurling:
Hurling training will continue over the summer. Wednesday nights 7pm to 8pm for U14 and U16. Sunday morning for all ages 10am to 11am
