County Fixtures:
Tailtean Cup – Final
Venue: Croke Park. Date/time: Saturday July 12th 2025 at 2:30pm
Limerick v Kildare
The footballers are in the Tailtean Cup final against Kildare this Saturday July 12th 2025 with throw-in at 2:30pm. This is the first of a Double-Bill as the All Ireland semi-final between Kerry and Tyrone throws in at 5pm.
The power of the 16th player shouldn’t be under estimated so put this date in your diary and support the footballers in whatever way that you can.

The Power of the 16th Player:
We are now in the second week of July and for those who follow Limerick Hurling but not Limerick Football, it must feel a little strange that Croke Park beckons for the big ball supporters.
How important is it to have a strong support base in order for a team to reach its potential. After five Liam McCarthy victories in a short period, the hurlers inspired many to compete for tickets and get behind the team. It is difficult to quantify just how important the support base is to the players, however, it has to have played a big part in motivating them to continue to excel and strive for more success. And deliver they did in a golden era for Limerick Hurling.
The Limerick footballers on the other hand are on a steady climb under Jimmy Lee with crowds growing steadily with each victory. This Sunday you can play your part by making the journey to Dublin to cheer on the team as they take on Kildare.
The same can be said for the trip to Cappagh the weekend after when we play Mungret St. Pauls in the first round of the championship. The more that go to these matches the more that the “Power of the16th Player” can be seen and felt by the players.
Put the 19th in your diary for Round 1 of the Championship.
