U8 Girls:
Well done to our U8 girls in their blitz last Wednesday night against Fr Casey’s. They played 3 great games of football with the skill level of both teams improving since they last met in June. Keep up the good work everyone.

U16 Girls:
Hard luck to our gallant U16 team who got knocked out of this years championship at the semi final stage against Mungret last Thursday night. This was a great game of football played between two evenly matched teams. The girls had a great year with the majority of this team underage for another year.
Huge credit to their management team of Niall Barrett, Helen Wall and David Murphy for the time and dedication they put in training this team all year.
Thanks for the parents for all the support they gave the girls dropping them to training and driving them across the county over the last number of months to matches. Finally thanks to a lovely group of girls, they gave it their all. We look forward to seeing them back on the field soon.

Athea Junior Ladies:
The adult team made it three out of three when they met Gerald Griffins in Ballyhahill last Sunday morning. The first half was a tight affair and despite dominating possession they were unable to turn it into scores. At the break the scoreboard read 1.5 to 4 points in favour of Athea. The second half saw Athea take control of the game and despite numerous wides it needed 2.9 to 4 points. Speedy recovery to a number of girls from both teams who picked up knocks during the game. The club would also like to express our sympathy to the Rocca family on the passing of Enzo. May he rest in peace. Our final group game is against St Ailbes in Athea Sunday 17th at 11.00. Please come out to support our girls.

U7 Boys & Girls Football:

Well played to the Athea U7s Footballers who played some great stuff versus KP, ABK, and South Liberties at a Blitz played in Pallaskenry Saturday morning. Thanks to the hosts Kildimo/Pallaskenry for giving every player a party bag for their efforts at the end. Well done everyone.

U9 Boys & Girls Football:
We travelled to Abbeyfeale on Sunday morning to play Fr. Caseys. On a glorious morning for football. We fielded two teams and played two 10min aside matches against two strong Fr. Casey sides. We were slow to start but as the matches went on all our players improved and got more and more involved with every player contributing to what was a very enjoyable morning of football with some lovely scores, excellent skill and great energy from all the players. Thanks to Fr. Caseys for hosting and thanks to the parents and players, to have 23 players togged out for 10am on a Sunday morning is not easy and very much appreciated. We continue with our training every Friday evening and we will have a few more matches in the coming weeks.
