West Junior B Hurling League:
ABK 2-9 Feenagh/Kilmeedy 0-12
Our Junior B hurlers headed to Feenagh on Sunday afternoon to take on the locals in the second round of the West Junior B hurling league. We had 18 hurlers available with a good mix of experience and youth. We played with the strong wind in the first half but started slowly and left the home side in to a 3point lead. After that we started to get a grip around the middle with great work from Seán McEnery and Paul Maher. 7 points from Thomas Lyng and a goal from David Holland following great work from David Ryan saw us build up a 5 point lead at half time 1-8 to 0-6. The second half started slowly as both sides hit wides. Following great work from Cormac McMahon, David Holland scored his second goal on the day with a smart finish which left us 6 points up with 13 minutes to go.
We held out for a 3 point victory following great work from the backs. The team showed a great work ethic throughout. Crecora-Manister are next up at home in 2 weeks time.
Well done to all involved. Team and scorers Cathal Guerin, Adam O’Sullivan, Roger Somers, Luke Kelly, Conor McNamara, Colm O’Connell 0-1, Cathal Moran 0-1, Seán McEnery, Paul Maher, Declan Guerin, Thomas Lyng 0-7, Cormac McMahon, Caolon Rushe, David Ryan, David Holland 2-0, Declan Ryan, Robert Cuddihy, Kevin Brouder.
