AHANE GAA CLUB NOTES

Club Lotto

We are in our final two weeks of selling lotto in preparation for our 1st draw at the end of June so we are asking all our members to support the clubs main fundraiser of the year which covers all our clubs everyday costs and will allow us to carry on improving our club facilities.

As we can’t call to collect our lotto in person this year , we have a number of options available on how people can continue to support our lotto if 2020.

2.- Go to ahane.ie, click on the lotto button and complete the transaction online

3.- Contact your regular lotto collector in your area or indeed any committee member (list available under contacts on ahane.ie)

4.- Send cheque for €120 payable to AHANE Gaa club along with your 4 chosen lotto numbers to our Secretary Tony at Laught, Lisnagry, Co. Limerick

5.- Complete the lotto brochure and return it with a cheque to our Club Secretary Tony at Laught, Lisnagry, Co. Limerick

GAA Road Map to Reopening

On behalf of the club we want to thank all our members and the wider community for their support and cooperation over the past number of months, it has been greatly appreciated. A huge well done and a round of applause has to go to our members and the community who set up the Covid-19 Assistacne Volunteer Group, who helped out those in our community that needed it during these current times. It has been fantastic to see the community pulling together and helping each other during these tough times.

On Friday An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar moved the country in to phase two of reducing the restrictions, this is turn means that we are one step closer to getting back out on the field and playing. The GAA, Camogie Association, and the LGFA have come together and released their roadmap to reopening. There are a number of steps to reopening and a number of dates that are important for us as a club and our members.

From the beginning of phase three (June 29th) small groups of ten can start back non-contact training and our pitches will be back open. All other faciliaties in the club (dressing rooms, club house etc) will remain closed. All forms of competition remain postponed and entry to our pitches is for players and management only.

Phase four (July 20th) will see a return to all forms of team and group training. Club competitions will resume from July 31st. However, the clubhouse and indoor facilities in the club will still remain closed.

From August 10th our remaining club facilities will reopen to our members.

We are so looking forward to getting back out on the field and playing, however please respect all the guidelines that are still in place so that we can continue with the reopening and continue to move forward.

Ball Wall AstroTurf Surface

We are delighted to tell you all that our AstroTurf surface on our ball wall was completed last week! The completion of the ball wall with the AstroTurf surface would not have been possible without the hard work put in by all those who were involved in the OsKaRs fundraiser last November. It was money well earned and well spent to improve our facilities.
