AHANE GAA CLUB NOTES

U21 Ball Alley League 2020

The 3rd annual U21 Ball Alley League reached its conclusion on Saturday 4th January in Bohermore Ball Alley.

Each player played 15 games over a 4 week period with a max 150 points on offer – the Top 8 then qualifying for quarter finals which were played on a knock-out basis.

The first semi final threw up quarter final winners Ciaran Barry v Andy Rowesome, with Ciaran coming out on top. Paudie Harnett and William Brennan then served up a classic, with Paudie edging out the last few points to earn a final spot. After a nervous start, Ciaran began to assume control of the final, but couldn’t shrug off the young pretender! The game was evenly poised at 19 all when 2 moments of genius from Paudie saw him claim the spoils. It was a fitting finale to an excellent competition this year, with standards noticeably higher across the board.

Well done to all who took part, and a massive word of thanks to Bohermore Handball Club who continue to offer us use of their fantastic facility.
