Ahane GAA Club Notes:

Junior A Football:
Cappamore was the venue for our Junior A Football against Hospital Herbertstown. Win this game and we have booked ourselves a spot in the County Semi Final. We started strongly and built up a strong lead in very tough weather conditions. Going in at half time it was Ahane 1-12 Hospital Herbertowns 1-03. Ahane came out in the second half and continued on their strong performance but Hospital Herbertowns never gave up and they started to chip away at the score line, they got it down to three points and you could sense the Ahane crowd were beginning to get nervous and were hoping that the full time whistle would come sooner rather than later. Gary Brennan scored the final point of the game to put Ahane ahead which was the security point that they needed. Full time Ahane 1-19 Hospital Herbertstown 3-10. Ahane are now in the County Final with fixture details to be confirmed.

U20 Hurling:
Our U20 hurlers continued their winning ways as they travelled to Knockainey on Friday night to take on Knockainey. They battled hard and ground out the win to make it two from two! Ahane 2-15 Knockainey 1-11.

U10:
Maith sibh to our U10 lads on Sunday evening who showed some real grit & determination against our neighbours across the Shannon in Clonlara! Only 2 more games left this season! We welcome Bandon next weekend and then it’s a trip on the train to Thurles on the 12th October!

U8:
Super teamwork and effort from both our U8 teams on Saturday morning at the blitz. The boys were brilliant and did u8s proud. Well done to all!
