Ahane GAA Club Notes:
Senior Hurling County Championship:
Well done to our Senior hurlers who ended that season on a high with a great win over Doon on Sunday in Cappamore. Goals from Cathal O’Mara and Gary Brennan along with great points from Tom Morrissey, Mark Donnellan, William Brennan, Ronan Fox, Mark Hickey and Will McCormack secured the eleven-point win! Full time Ahane 2-24 Doon 1-16.
Junior A Hurling County Championship:
Well done to our Junior A hurlers who put in a serious performance on Saturday against Templeglantine to secure the win and their Junior A status for next year! David Kennedy got the Ahane goal after two minutes on the clock in the opening half and that set the tone for the afternoon. Full Time Ahane 1-17 Templeglantine 1-07.
East Junior B Hurling Championship:
Our Junior B Hurlers made the short trip out to Cappamore on Wednesday evening to take on Murroe Boher in the East Junior B Semi Final. From the get go the lads put their shoulders to the wheel and gave it everything. They got some lovely scores and there was great tackling, hooking and blocking going on all around the field. They secured their East Final spot on a score line of Ahane 0-19 Murroe Boher 0-15.
U8 Football:
Well done to our U8 Footballers who welcomed Monaleen to Mackey Park this week to play some fantastic games of football in the glorious September sunshine. A great evening of football was had by all, topped off with ice pops and chats in the sunshine!
U12 Football:
Well done to our U12 Footballers who had a great game against St Patricks this week. Huge thanks to St Pats for the warm welcome and for the great game of football.
