Ahane GAA Club Notes:

Senior Hurling:
Our Senior Hurlers got their Championship off to a winning start on Saturday as they took on Mungret St Pauls and came away with a one point win. The game could have gone either way but it was Ahane that held firm and took home the win. An important win for us as we start our 2024 Championship Campaign.
Junior A Hurling:
The Junior A Hurlers made the short trip over to Cappamore to take on Bruff on Sunday morning. In mixed conditions weather wise where there was a strong wind and the rain threatened to fall on numerous occasions, Ahane started well. Bruff did get on top after the first five minutes but Ahane battled well and managed to go ahead with just over seventeen minutes gone in the first half. Ahane took the lead and never gave it back. Some lovely scores and interlinking play meant that Ahane ended the day on a 1-17 to 12 points win.
Minor A Football:
Our Minor A Footballers continued their good form as they got a big win over Ballylanders. They played lovely fluid football and scored four fantastic goals. The game ended on a score line of Ahane 4-15 Ballylanders 2-06. This kept them at the top of the table. With a walkover given to them by Killacolla Gaels, we secured all ten points available and now head for a Semi Final.
