Ahane GAA Club Notes:
National Féile Football:
Our Féile Footballers headed to Padraig Pearses in Roscommon where they play Eglish Naomh Patrick, Erins Own Lavey and Silverbridge Harps. Having lost narrowly to Eglish Noamh Patrick and Erins Own Lavey the boys gave it everything once more in the last group game against Silverbridge Harps and came away with the win. This qualified them for the Shield Semi Final against Four Masters from Donegal. After another fantastic display of football, they won the semi final and set themselves a date in the Shield Final against Silverbridge Harps. Similarly, to when they played each other in the group it was nip and tuck and the sides could not be separated. The game ended as a draw after normal time. At half time of extra time we were one a point up. Unfortunately Silverbridge Harps scored a point right towards the end of the second half of extra time which gave them the one point win and left our lads heartbroken. We would just like to say thank you to Padraig Pearses for being fantastic hosts on Saturday, everything was so well organised and our lads had a great day! Congratulations to Silverbridge Harps on winning the Shield, we played two great games against them! Congratulations to Erin’s Own Lavey on winning the Cup! Finally, to our lads, we an unbelievably proud of you! You represented yourselves, your families and the club so well
U9 Football:
A huge well done to all the U9 boys on Monday night against Moneleen and Na Piarsaigh!
It was great to see such teamwork and fantastic football being played.
Thanks to all the parents who made the journey
