Ireland Lights Up:
Bhí trathnóna iontach againn ag siúl agus ag rith le chéile le ‘Ireland Lights Up’ i gcomhpháirtíocht le Operation Transformation agus Get Ireland Walking Dé Sathairn i Pháirc Mac Aoidh.
We had a great Saturday afternoon walking together in Mackey Park in the first of our 6 walks as part of the GAA’s ‘Ireland Lights Up’ initiative in conjunction with Operation Transformation and Get Ireland Walking. It was wonderful to see 90 members of the community (young and old) out using the walkway in Mackey Park. The cup of tea at the end and a chat was great too!
Go raibh míle maith agaibh to Linda O’Connor and Denis Kelly for organising, Maura Tierney for the cúpla focail at the start and Judith Mulcahy for the warm-up.
Biggest thanks of all to those who turned up to walk and we hope to see you again next Saturday at 4pm!
U17 Football Shield 2021 & U19 B Football Co. Champions:
We presented our U17 Shield Football winning team of 2021 and our U19 Football County Champions of 2023 with their medals on Friday evening. A fantastic achievement for both groups, many of whom played on both the U17 and the U19 team. It was wonderful to present the lads with their medals and show how proud we are of their achievement.
Fingers crossed there will be plenty of more silverware for these lads in the coming years.
