Junior B Hurling:
We welcomed Cappamore to Mackey Park on Tuesday evening. The lad put in a great performance and both teams were evenly matched throughout the game. So much so, the game ended in a draw. Full time Ahane 3-15 Cappamore 0-24. We now play Pallasgreen on Tuesday in Pallasgreen at 6:30pm

Senior Hurling:
We travelled to Kilmallock to take on Patrickswell in the Senior Hurling County Championship on Thursday. We started slowly and only notched up five points by half time, all of which came from Tom Morrissey frees. We started the second half better and we got two great goals, the first from Tom and the second from Paddy Morrissey. It wasn’t enough to catch Patrickswell who scored two goals themselves. The first one in the first half from Jordan Higgins and the second one came in the second half from Aaron Gillane. The game finished on a score line of Ahane 2-13 Patrickswell 2-16. We now play Na Piarsaigh on Thursday 7th September at 6pm in Claughaun.

Junior A Hurling:
Our Junior A Hurlers played St Patricks on Friday evening where they hoped they could round off the week with a win. It wasn’t to be however as St Pats were the stronger side and Gearoid Hegarty and his brother Diarmuid Hegarty caused all sorts of trouble as they scored 19 points between them. The final score was Ahane 1-11 St Pats 1-24. Our next game is against Castletown Ballyagran in Fedamore on Sunday 10th September at 12pm.

U6 & U7 Hurling:
On Monday evening the Ahane u6 and u7 hurlers welcomed the boys and girls from Newport GAA to Mackey Park for some inter county hurling!! Both clubs fielded over 30 players. The boys and girls put on a great display of hurling. The evenings proceedings were analysed when all was over while enjoying the fresh oranges provided by Elaine Lynch. Thanks to all the mentors, parents and supporters that showed up to watch the matches. Ahane Abú

U11 Hurling:
Well done to our u11 hurlers who hosted Ballina on Tuesday evening in Mackey Park. We fielded two teams, played two matches each. Thanks to our visitors, coaches and supporters.

Our u9 footballers played a blitz in Na Piarsaigh on Friday evening. Adare and Cappamore also attended. A great occasion and very well organised by Na Piarsaigh!
