Ahane GAA Club Notes:

Bon Secours Senior Hurling County Championship:

We got the perfect start to our Senior Co Championship campaign as we secured the win over Kildimo Pallaskenry on Saturday night. Dan Minehan ended the night with 1-03 while Tom Morrissey scored 0-12 points seven from frees. Ronan Fox also got his name on the score sheet with 1-01. Mark Donnellan got 0-02 while Adam Murrihy, Jack Butler and Colum Carroll all chipped in with a point each. Down the other end of the field Kildimo Pallaskenry scored a penalty and then got their second goal from a long range free in the second half scored by Barry O’Connell. Full time score Ahane 2-22 Kildimo Pallaskenry 2-16.

Woodlands House Hotel Junior A Hurling County Championship:

Our Junior A Hurlers started their campaign strongly too as they put in a great performance against Feenagh/Kilmeedy on Sunday. Going like for like in the first half the score at half time was 10 points a piece. Both sides continued their scoring and work rate throughout the second half but it was a late goal that would seal the win for Feenagh/Kilmeedy. Game ended on a score line of Ahane 0-17 Feenagh/Kilmeedy 1-18

U19 Football Championship:

Well done to our U19 footballers who had a great win over Hospital Herbertstown! Their super second half performance secured them the win. They now play Sarsfields on Tuesday 8th August in Pallasgreen at 7pm

Mr Binman U17 Hurling Division 1:

Our U17 hurlers played Murroe Boher on Wednesday 2nd August in round 2 of Championship. This was a competitive and exciting game. The visitors came out on top by two points . Round 3 game for Ahane is 16 August away to Garryspillane. Great crowd of supporters out last night to support our team and we hope you can come out again on the 16th!

U11 Hurling:

Well done to our u11 hurlers who hosted Clonlara on Tuesday evening. We fielded two teams played two matches each. Thanks to Clonlara for visiting, to the u11 coaches for organising and to all the supporters who turned out to support both teams.

Well done to our super U11 hurlers who played in the Gaelic Grounds last Friday morning in the Munster GAA Activity Day. Fantastic experience for the boys and girls which they thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks to the organisers and to all the teams we played. Well done to the kids and many thanks to their coaches Padhric, Mike and John and all the supporters too! Ahane agus Luimneach abú! After their games they got a tour of the dressing rooms and the museum in the Gaelic Grounds!

U8 Fundamental Movement Skills Challenge:

Congratulations to our first group of u8 boys to complete their Fundamental Movement Skills Challenge. The mentos went down well but the AG Sports sliotar signed by the man himself Aaron Gillane was the real prize!

U15 Hurling:

Well done to our u15 hurlers on a great win away to Monaleen on Monday evening. Ahane are now guaranteed a county semi final place on 2nd September with a match to spare in the group stages. Well done to all the lads and their coaches!
