Covid-19 Update
An Taoiseach Micheal Martin made another announcement on Friday 28th May. In this announcement he has given us further details on the road map to reopening. From a GAA point of view his announcement was a very positive one, the biggest news is that a small number of spectators will be allowed in to watch games in June and July where they will hold test events to see how they get on with having larger numbers gathered together at an event. As we get more guidelines and information surrounding spectators we will let you all know. Another positive is that from June 7th matches can be played so keep an eye out on our social media for any up coming fixtures. As always we ask that you and your family continue to follow all Public Health Guidelines so that we can keep moving in this positive direction.
Allianz National Leagues
Football: Another great weekend for the Limerick Senior Footballers as they overcame Offaly to secure themselves a spot in the Division 3 League Semi Final. They will play Derry in the Semi Final which will take place in two weeks’ time. We wish them and their management the very best of luck.
Hurling: After a week off the Limerick Senior Hurlers are back in action on Saturday evening against Cork in the LIT Gaelic Grounds at 7:15. Limerick will be looking to get a win from this game as they are still without a win in the league so far. We are wishing Dan, Tom and all the lads the very best of luck next Saturday. Don’t forget to tag Limerick GAA and CLUB Limerick in your Instagram stories showing your support of the lads from home on Saturday
evening.
Littlewoods Ireland National Camogie Leagues
Both the Limerick Junior and Senior Camogie teams were out again at the weekend, with the Juniors continuing their good form as they added another win to their League Campaign over Waterford. This now means they are in a League Semi Final on June 12th.
The Seniors came up short against a very impressive Galway outfit with the game ending on a score line of Limerick 0-07 Galway 3-13. This now means that Limerick are in a Quarter Final and have been drawn against Kilkenny on Saturday June 5th. We wish both the Junior Team and the Senior Team the very best of luck in their respective games.
New Goalposts for Ahane National School
There was great excitement on Friday afternoon in Ahane National School as Club Chairperson Colm Barry delivered two new goalposts complete with nets to the enthusiastic pupils from the GAA Club. The children cannot wait to start developing their skills.
