U19 B Football Championship
In a hectic weekend for our U19 Footballers, they were unfortunate to come out on the wrong side of the result in both their games. Starting their weekend on Friday evening with a game v St Senan’s in Foynes. We led at half time in tough wet conditions, but St Senan’s put in a serious second half performance and got the win. Full time Ahane 3-07 St Senan’s 5-09. Sunday evening saw the lads make the trip out to Pallasgreen. Again, we put in a great first half and were winning at half time. But Pallasgreen played all the football in the second half and won out by three points. Full time Ahane 4-04 Pallasgreen 5-04.
U13 Hurling
Our U13 Hurlers played Bruff on Thursday evening in their last game of the group. Ahane came out on top against a competitive Bruff side scoring some lovely goals and displaying excellent defensive skills. The boys are now through to the semi-finals in September. Well done to the team and their mentors. Thanks to those who volunteered to help with the carpark, umpiring and first aid. Thanks too, to all the supporters who turned out to support the boys!
U15 Inter County Football
Well done to our own Donal Dawson & Anton Donohoe who played with the Limerick U15 team on Sunday in the Dermot Earley U15 Football Development Tournament semi-final. They beat Sligo by a point after extra time.
On behalf of the club, we send our condolences to Mike, Seamus and Pat O’Brien on the passing of their mum Ann. Mike, Seamus, and Pat are all former players with the club. We send our thoughts and prayers to Ann’s family at this sad time. We also send our condolences to the family of John Givens on his sad passing. John played with Senior with the club in both football and hurling. Our thoughts are with all John’s family at this sad time.
