ADARE GAA CLUB NOTES

The Friday 23rd July Lotto draw numbers were: 6, 10, 17, 32. There was no winner which raises the Jackpot to €8,300. Remember you can now complete our weekly lotto online, Google ’Adare GAA Smart lotto’. The next draw takes place Friday 30th July at 9:30pm. Thank you for your continued support and we wish you the very best of luck.
We would like to wish Adare’s Michael Keane and Joe Sweeney the very best of luck in the Munster Under 20’s Hurling Championship Final against Cork on Wednesday 28th and congratulate them on their win over Clare in the semi-final.
Last Tuesday the 20th July our senior hurlers played Granagh/Ballingarry in the West Senior Hurling League Final in Newcastle West. A very entertaining game with 9 goals overall, Adare were victorious 4-21 to 5-14 in the dead, evening heat. They then went on to play Doon in the County semi-final on Sunday evening in Kilmallock. Another tight game as has been the case between Adare and Doon over the last number of meetings but Adare continued their winning streak on a scoreline of 1-18 to 2-14. We wish them the very best of luck in their preparation for the final, opposition and fixture yet to be confirmed.
Adare Bord na nÓg notes
Thanks to all those who supported our recent British Open Fundraiser which raised €1,000, it will make a huge difference to our club. Well done to Diarmuid Keating who won the €300 and we hear he has great plans to spend his winnings. Congratulations Diarmuid!
We had many of our Bord na nÓg teams in action last week.
U15 Hurling Championship
Hard luck to our under 15 hurlers who put in a tremendous effort Monday evening in sweltering heat against Kildimo. We were short a number of regulars on the evening but some of our Under13’s performed really well and gained great experience. A minute’s silence was observed at the start of the game in respect to Darren Whelan and his family from all players and parents from both sides. Sincere condolences to Darren’s family and all in Kildimo GAA from Adare GAA. Huge thanks to Milo, Padraig, Aidan and especially all the valuable advice from our senior hurlers the lads received this year from Frank, John and David. The very best of luck to the lads in their upcoming senior Championship. The very best of luck to some of our players on county panels at the moment and keep practicing lads.
U13 Hurling Championship
Our U13 hurlers met with Na Piarisagh on Thursday evening last in Kilcornan – it was a balmy evening and the weather conditions didn’t seem to suit the boys as they lost out to a very strong team. Thanks to many of our U12s who stepped up during the match as well, you did a great job. The boys kept battling throughout and we can really see an improvement on the training pitch and the boys are really committed. Keep going boys.
